Lily is 1 Month old!
She went to the doctor yesterday and weighed an even 9 pounds and was almost 22 inches long. Perfect, the doc said!
The first three weeks of being a mom was really hard. But now I feel like every day I get the hang of it a little more...and am able to enjoy Lily the more I know her. She is beginning to sleep a little longer at night, which is helpful to me. Right now I am trying to figure out what her routine is, and keep her on somewhat of a schedule. It's better for both of us when I know what to expect. We had a trip to see Grandma and Grandpa Schroeder last weekend. It was wonderful to see them step into those roles and watch how they were with Lily. Lily met her cousins and great grandma...along with her great aunts and uncles. Colin, my brand new nephew was born last week...we put Lily next to him and you could really see the difference in just a few weeks of age. Her double chin is starting to form and her cheeks are kissably full. She is still little and needs to be cuddled all the time...but I have a feeling time is going to go by fast. I still feel very behind on everything...it's hard for me to return calls & emails & upkeep myself and the apartment. I cannot believe how busy she keeps me. I hope I have a grace period of being able to get back to life...and I hope it's long. :) This weekend is my friend Teri's wedding. I am a bridesmaid and I'm very excited for her. It will be the first time that we experience having Eric & Grandma (campbell) take care of her all day. They will do great, I am ready for a break too. Though I am sure I'll think of her all the time.
